Testosterone Supplements and Blood Clots; an Invitation to Participate in a Research Project
One of the leading clinical investigators in the area of thrombosis (blood clots) resulting from testosterone supplemenation, Dr. Charles J. Glueck, has asked ClotCare to help spread the word about an ongoing study for individuals who have experienced a blood clot while taking or using a testosterone supplement. ClotCare.org has 3 postings that discuss some of his earlier work at http://clotcare.org/postings.aspx?by=med&medid=55&word=Testosterone His current study has been approved by an Institutional Review Board and there is no cost to participate. Furthermore, qualified individuals may participate in confidence. Part of the focus of the study is to conduct various blood tests to determine if a study participant may have a hypercoagulable condition (a biochemical abnormality that increases the risk of developing blood clots). For more information on this study opportunity, potential subjects and/or their care givers should contact Charles Glueck, MD at the Cholesterol, Metabolism, and Thrombosis Center, the Jewish Hospital of Cincinnati, Suite 430, 2135 Dana Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45207; Phone 513-924-8250; email firstname.lastname@example.org.
